On Friday, June 1st at the River Oaks Country Club in Houston, Brian Ross was named the 2012 Leukemia & Lymphoma Society “Man of the Year” for having raised a Gulf-Coast-Chapter-record-shattering $123,482 in nine weeks!
Below is a link commemorating the occasion, which a few of us from Benchmark had the pleasure of attending: http://www.rexross.com/LLS2012.html
Here is an excerpt from Brian to his supporters: Please let me thank all of you one more time for your extra generous support of this great cause. The key point is not that we “won” Man of the Year merely for the sake of winning, but rather the point is that together we put up such a large number that it will legitimately make a difference in the ongoing fight against blood cancers. I hope that all of you feel some well-deserved enjoyment out of being a part of that.
Not only is Brian a supporter of this cause, but he is a survivor. We are so happy to say that Brian is currently in his 4th year of remission from lymphoma.
CONGRATULATIONS to Brian, LLS Man of the Year, from all your friends at Benchmark!!
